Augustana Lutheran Church
is a welcoming, caring congregation of the
Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America, offering opportunities for worship,
spiritual growth and fellowship. We express our faith and love to others in the
name of Jesus Christ.
Several years ago the Lutheran Church in
America (a predecessor to the current Evangelical Lutheran Church in America)
had a slogan for its churches: The Welcome Place. What made a congregation a
"welcome place?" Ultimately, that was probably in the opinion of the visitor.
Did people greet members and visitors alike with a friendly greeting? Did they
show people where important things were (like rest rooms, worship space,
nursery, etc.)? Perhaps the ultimate question that visitors asked themselves
was, "Did they treat me in such a way that I want to come back and worship with
them again?"
All churches say they are friendly and welcoming. 
Augustana truly is! Remember, visitors are always expected!
